Take time to be a “Dad” today

I said I would also compliment our elected officials when they do something right.  So here goes.  Have you seen the commercials with President Obama entitled “Take time to be a Dad today?”  Well, this one deserve’s credit.  I think he started this on Father’s day, but the commercial is still running now.

What does this have to do with survival?  Everything.  Survival is not just about us as adults surviving and thriving, but also about teaching our children to do the same so that they too may learn how to take responsibility for themselves one day.

Regardless of what you think of Mr. Obama’s politics (and I certainly have some huge problems with them) you have to give credit to this message.

President OObama Take time to be a Dadbama is in a public service campaign by the Ad Council and the Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families. The campaign, created pro bono by Campbell-Ewald, Detroit, is designed to remind fathers of the critical role they play in their children’s lives and encourage responsible fatherhood.

If you haven’t seen the commercial Click here or the picture above to view.

Now before you start emailing about his dad, his mom…yada yada yada, yes I know, there are question marks.   Please don’t let your political beliefs cloud the message.  I’ve spent plenty of time on this website criticizing his policies and I’ll continue to do so when they are not good for this country.

But this message is a good one and even though Father’s Day is long gone, every day is “Father’s Day.” If you’re a Dad, please “take time to be a Dad today.”

It’s essential…for survival.

  1. I agree. We as father’s have a huge responsibility to our children. If this is done well, then the effects then extend on to our children’s families, city, country and so on.

“Dad” is the highest office in the land.. A dad bestows on his children the confidence to take care of themselves .
