Just spent some time this afternoon re populating my bug out bag for spring and summer.  Food, knives, hatchet, flashlights, batteries, drinking water (small amount) gloves, matches, space blankets (they even have summer use, shelter, etc.) pen, paper, notebook, compass, extra ammo, magazines, eating utensils, water purification tablets, filter bottle and a few other miscellaneous items.

I've got more to stock it with, will work on that later this week.  Is your bug out bag ready?

I really don't have a bug out bag.  I've got a pretty good get-home bag, though, which could keep me going for several days.  Bugging out really isn't an option for me for several reasons, the first of which are the drugs I require to keep going.  I don't think I could really tote around any more than perhaps 6 months worth, and even if I did, they'd probably spoil in the Texas heat.  Bottom line is my bug out would be VERY limited....perhaps a couple of days to a week at most.

Honestly, if it truly is a HSHTF (that's a Huge SHTF!), I'm kinda screwed due to the maintenance drugs which cannot be replaced by any means.  If it's 'head for the hills' scenario because of a fire, storm, or whatever, then I'm ok.
