Episode 137 – Home Security

Home security is something we should constantly think about. Especially if TSHTF, there will be stressed out people that will do crazy things they don’t normally do. Given the fact that survival is must as much about what we do know before something happens as it is after a disaster, this subject fits right in. So many times I answered a call from a stressed out homeowner or business owner, calling me after they were broken into. I often silently askes myself the question, “why didn’t they take care of this before this happened?” Every one of them wish they had. During my 16 years in the home security industry, I’ve learned a few things along the way, so in this podcast I share some things for you to think about to protect your castle. I cover how to secure a single family home, a business, an apartment and a rural farm or BOL. I discuss security systems, IP surveillance cameras, motion detectors, glass break sensors, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and more. I even talk about less lethal ways to secure the inside of your home and the 3 layers of protection to consider. I think you’ll find this quite informative. 1. Good comment, I’ll likely do another show on this soon.

Given your knowledge on home security, it would be great to do a show on securing your garage and out buildings.

I understand that garage doors can be very east to open, and given the amount of valuables (tools) as well as potential arsonist materials (fuels) that are typically kept there. Also, once a BG is in the garage, if its attached, he’s IN the house.
